Croft House is located in the Doomsday village of Cheriton Fitzpaine in mid Devon.  The village boasts several buildings which are more than 800 years old and offers a delightful example of the real old England. The village has two pubs-one of which hails from the thirteenth century- along with the longest thatched house in England.

There are numerous excellent walks around the property of varying distances, both cross-country on designated footpaths and on beautifully scenic, quiet country lanes. Maps of walks with a pub en-route can be supplied by the owners on request.

Escape the ruck and scrum

Make a weekend of it. Take in some top Aviva Premiership action with the Exeter Chiefs, then escape the ruck and scrum at Croft House, your own bolthole deep in the Devon countryside. The only sounds in Cheriton Fitzpaine are the echo of seclusion, the roar of the pizza oven and the splash of the heated pool.

Up the pace at Sandy Park, home to one of the Premier League’s leading rugby union sides and host to world-class opposition such as Bath Rugby, Leicester Tigers and Saracens. Exeter’s ground will also see European 7s action this July and Rugby World Cup pool games this September.

The pool games at Croft House simply involve heated water and a beach ball. All is whisper-quiet here. Yet you’re just ten miles from Exeter with enough beds to put up a rugby union team of your own. Take a taxi and grab a beer or two while you take in the action.
