Croft House features a large and deep outdoor swimming pool, as well as a beautifully designed hot tub, both available for use throughout the year. The pool is heated in June, July and August. It can be heated out of season by arrangement. It is one metre deep at the shallow end and three metres at the deep end, standing within extensive two-acre gardens that include a large pizza oven within a vaulted covered outdoor dining area with lighting and sound system, a large outdoor fire pit, a tree enclosed barbecue area and new floodlit table tennis area. The landscaped gardens are lit in the evenings and are perfect for summer afternoons in the sun or evening drinks under the stars.
Geese roam the field area outside the formal gardens adding to the relaxed country atmosphere. There are hens from which guests can help themselves to delicious free range eggs. Our gardens are full of fruit trees and bushes. During your stay at Croft House, please feel free to enjoy a spot of fruit picking, for the chance to enjoy fresh quinces, Medlars, gooseberries, figs, cherries and apples. A wireless internet connection is provided, as are parking facilities for up to eight vehicles.
Traditionally furnished, Croft House has exposed beams, interior stone walls and a country-style kitchen including an Aga stove and a selection of modern appliances including two pyrolytic electric ovens, a four ring gas hob, large four oven aga, Lavazza coffee machine, toaster, kettle, microwave, wine fridge, conventional fridge, and dishwasher. The property has a large lounge with seating, woodburner, and 65″ flatscreen TV. In the kitchen, you’ll find two large comfy sofas and another flatscreen TV.
Laundry facilities are provided in a utility room, and there’s a games room with a pool table, bar, air hockey table and selection of board games. The cottage has six bedrooms, including two family rooms with a double bed and a single bed, a triple room, a single room and an en-suite super-king room. It also features two shower rooms and a large bathroom, and there is futon for two further guests.
We want you to enjoy every moment of your stay at Croft House so whatever your desire for food and drink, we can help. If you love cooking then help yourselves to the large kitchen. Alternatively, if you’d like a little or a lot of help then you can organise anything from pre-prepared meals dropped off ready for the oven to fine cuisine at a local restaurant.
There’s plenty to keep the children occupied at Croft House. As well as the outdoor swimming pool, children can while away the hours with games of table tennis, or the little ones can enjoy cooking up a storm in the outdoor mud kitchen and children’s play house. In the summer months, why not pick fresh cherries and apples straight from the garden? Then end the day with a barbecue or a pizza fresh from the outdoor pizza oven.
If the British weather isn’t on your side, indoors there’s a games room with pool table and air hockey table for all ages to enjoy. Or bring all the family together for movie nights and board games; there’s a large selection of books to enjoy too!
