Chalk Cliffs Villa is big, boutique and beautiful close to the heart of beachy, breezy Bridlington. You’ll love the Yorkshire coast with its cliffs, puffins and fossil-rich beaches, but you might love this 16-bed beauty more. Tastefully done in calm neutrals, Chalk Cliffs also pops with vibrant, fashionable blues as a backdrop to the fun and frolics.
Get the family together and enjoy a huge living room where you can all get together plus a breakout space beyond for recharging social batteries. Cook on two electric grill ovens and fill the two American-style fridge/freezers with goodies from local supermarkets and fresh seafood straight from the harbour.
Blow away cobwebs on the beach and cliffs, wander the Old Town, then come home to family film nights in the living room (bring your passwords). Sleep in eight bouji bedrooms, with a ground-floor room perfect for wheelchair users. Wake to seabirds and sunshine, clifftops and moorlands, and do it all again.
Fling open the bi-fold doors onto the ten-metre courtyard and soak up the sunshine with a beer or a Beaujolais around the coal barbecue. Stay out until sundown and jump into the seven-seater hot tub beneath the gazebo to stare at stars and chit-chat in the moonlight.
Choose from a super-sociable living room with L-shaped sofa, cushions and beanbags or a breakout snug with corner sofa and cosy fire. Make Instagram jealous with shots uploaded on the superfast EE broadband and come together for family film nights on the smart TV (don’t forget your passwords).
Humungous would be a good word for the kitchen/dining area. With space for your whole party to dine in comfort and the bi-fold doors open to the courtyard and its bubbling hot tub, eating’s pretty agreeable around here. Cook on the two electric fan ovens, or get the pros in and the only simmering you need do is in that hot tub.
Big shop? Tesco and Sainsbury’s are just down the road. Or get a real flavour of the Yorkshire coast and opt for fresh lobster and crab directly from the harbour. Have a night off and grab a takeaway from Canton Kitchen for Chinese, Lezzet for kebabs and pizza, or Saffron for Indian. Ship to Shore is your best bet for super-fresh fish and chips.
Walk beautiful Flamborough Head, then call in for tea at The Seabirds for fresh fish or black and blue stacks. The North Star Hotel is a clifftop treat renowned for fresh Flamborough seafood and wild game caught in the Wolds. Or head to the Old Town for music, beer, breakfasts and burgers at The Black Lion.
If it’s pizza and pasta you’re after, San Marco in Filey should do the trick. For a Mediterranean feel, great cocktails and a grazing menu, get a table at The Glass House at Charlotte’s. Or take a trip out into the countryside for Michelin-recommended Pipe and Glass’ ‘meticulously prepared’ menus.
Bushed after a long day on the cliffs or North York Moors? This close to the coast, you can gently nudge open the windows in the eight en-suite bedrooms and the night air will do the rest. Chalk Cliffs Villa sleeps 16 but if you need more space, consider sister property, eight-bedroom North Beach House next door.
Bedroom one on the ground floor is a large kingsize perfect for an elderly couple or wheelchair users. On the first floor, bedroom two is a kingsize with access to bedroom three, offering an adult bunk bed. Bedrooms four and five are kingsize.
On the second floor, bedroom six provides a kingsize bed and the en-suite comes with a separate bath tub, while bedrooms seven and eight are doubles.
